Clue - The Musical Tacoma Theatre reviews
John Mayer was ON FIRE!! He deserves 6 stars!
I wanted to see Train again, but the crowd at Darien Lake wasn't as into them as the Bethel Woods crowd had been. I also saw Clue - The Musical and Train 6 days prior at Bethel Woods. I think we danced and sang the whole time at Bethel. Pat Monihan is just great, so is the lead guitarist Jimmy Stafford, the drummer, and rest of the band. I'm a permanent fan. They definitely didn't seem to appreciate them enough, talking through a good part of the performance. I thought the crowd as far as Train went was almost rude at Darien Lake.
On the other hand, the crowd went absolutely nuts for John Mayer. I couldn't believe the crowd could come alive like that after they were such duds for Train. He really mixed his songs up a lot and played Perfectly Lonely and (if I remember right) Heartbreak Warfare very differently than usual. Wonderful, great music. But they did, and John Mayer really rose to the occasion and burned the place up with over 2 hours of music! I'm glad we saw John Mayer at what must have been his best! Reminded me of Hendrix at Monteray Pop. The guitar solo for Gravity on the floor - amazing! Although we went a 2nd time mainly to see Train. My husband, 18 year old daughter and I all loved it. It was worth the driving around we've done to see him and Train twice this past week.
